During a 12 month period, works were undertaken to replace Bell Bridge, the historic masonry arch bridge which collapsed following Storm Desmond in December 2015.

During a 28 week period, works were undertaken to upgrade a level crossing over the Up and Down SCM3 lines in Stirling.

Over a 4 month period, works were undertaken to perform a full bridge reconstruction to Killingworth Road Bridge on the Metro line in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Working in partnership with both Blackpool Council and Network Rail, Story Contracting were engaged as principal contractor to replace the busy Plymouth Road bridge.

During a 5 month period, works were undertaken to renew the track slab within the Mersey Loop at Liverpool.

Commencing in Spring 2016; works were undertaken to build a new car park and develop the access area surrounding Workington Railway Station, on behalf of Cumbria County Council.

Repair works were undertaken on the Carlisle to Settle railway following a 500,000 tonne landslip in February 2016, closing the line near Armathwaite.

In 2016 Story Contracting carried out the award-winning construction of a new footbridge and cycleway at Currock Bridge in Carlisle, as part of a major community scheme driven by Cumbria County Council.

Story Contracting were awarded the Maybrook Warehouse Extension Phase 2 project, following the successful completion of 4000m2 Phase 1 works by Story Contracting in 2014.
