Essential works took place to replace the unsafe road crossing over Dunure Road by reopening a former railway tunnel as a new underpass.

Story Contracting delivered new inspection pits inside Holgate Depot, as part of a series of enhancement to the Network Rail facility in order to expand operations.

The works at Hartlepool station required the complete reinstatement of the former southbound platform to modern standards. A new fully accessible footbridge linking the reinstated platform to the main part of the station, with provision made for steps and lifts to the footbridge.

Upon inspection it was identified that the structure was suffering from defects such as loose brickwork, open joints, parapet leaning/bulging, fractured pattress plates and other minor works areas typical of masonry.

This complex and high-profile scheme was led by Story Contracting’s in-house project management and engineering teams.

Network Rail required platforms 1-3 to be renewed due to the current platforms not being compliant to the Network Rail standards.

Story Contracting were contracted by BAE Systems to carry out the project which was a mixture of civils and building works to prepare the site for the new University of Cumbria facility.

Story Contracting were contracted by Landmarc to carry out the project to construct a new 1214m2 industrial style training building for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) within the Catterick MOD base.

In 2021 Story were appointed to assist the design team to produce the most efficient construction sequence to carry out the construction of a new Effluent Treatment Plant at the Iggesund factory in Workington, Cumbria.
