The Scope

The project involved the following main activities:

• Site set up
• Removal of the existing shed
• Break out the existing slab
• Installation of ducting and drainage
• Installation of shutters
• Installation of reinforcement and insulation
• Pour raft slabs
• Installation of new steel portal frame
• Installation of perimeter blockwork
• Installation of roof cladding
• M&E first fix works
• Installation of wall cladding
• M&E second fix works
• Installation of roller doors and personnel doors
• Resin floor paint applied
• Installation of interceptor into car park area
• Installation of kerbs and Aco drains
• Installation of car park lighting columns
• Installation of EV chargers in the new car park
• Grade up and resurface car park
• Installation of white lining
• Installation of solar panels on new storage building
• Site demobilisation

Delivering Success

Working closely with the client, the Story team redesigned and simplified the car park layout to improve traffic flow and eliminate unnecessary kerbs. The team also removed existing flower beds and shillied areas, streamlining the landscaping into a clean, low-maintenance design. This left the client with an attractive and practical grassed seating area that’s easy to manage.

The Story Way

Story worked closely with the RWE team to make sure all works did not impact the day-to-day operations of the site. Following the dismantling of the existing
storage building, it was organised that the building would be received by Rebuild to support the growth of the CIC which promotes a circular economy and sustainability by taking surplus construction materials and putting them to good use.
