The scope of the project was to implement the following works:
• Earthworks: Comprehensive earthworks to prepare the site.
• Site Access Roads: Construction of access roads for efficient site navigation.
• Security and Lighting Installation: Implementation of security measures and lighting systems.
• Placement of Precast Units: Strategic placement of precast units for structural integrity.
• Foundation Construction: Building additional foundations around the MV skid perimeter.
• Substation Drainage: Installation of effective drainage systems for the substation.
• Underground Ducting: Laying underground ducting for utility connections.
• 33 kV Cable Route Installation: Establishing the 33 kV cable route for grid connection.
• The use of recycled aggregates for bulk fill materials allowed for a cost benefit of 33k.
• The Story team transported timber formwork panels to Cathkin for re-use along with utilising the same supply chain for Cathkin improvement works.
• The team hosted a live lessons learned session between the Broxburn BESS & Cathkin BESS teams to discuss ways of improvement.
