Everyone is equally valued and respected in our Story family – each one of us is different, we all have our own unique stories. Our Every Story steering group meets regularly to ensure that we remain a great place to work because we are inclusive and all of our people are treated fairly and with respect. The group ensures that we are forward thinking in our training, recruitment and the ways we support our people, as well as raising awareness of the issues faced by anyone belonging to a minority group.

As part of our commitment to equality in the workplace, we have also recently signed the Women in Rail and Railway Industry Association’s ‘EDI Charter’. The signing of the Charter demonstrates the company’s intention to help build a more balanced railway sector that is representative of a modern UK.

Helen Jameson, HR Director at Story Contracting, said: “We are proud to support International Women’s Day to both challenge inequality and celebrate women’s achievements. At Story we strive to create a working environment where the values of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect are prominent, and the reality for our valued colleagues.”
