Story Contracting has reinforced its commitment to become Disability Confident by signing up to the Government scheme.

The Disability Confident scheme provides employers with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in the workplace.

Rachel Jaggard, Head of People, said: “Committing to the Disability Confident Scheme is part of our strategy to ensure that the great employment opportunities we offer are available to all. It helps us to recruit from the widest possible pool of talent and supports us to retain valuable skills and experience within our business.

Rachel added: “We value diversity and it is essential for us to ensure that everyone within Story Contracting feels included and part of our team.”

The pledge is part of wider campaign by Story to promote equality in the business and wider industry – from running a ‘Every Story’ working group to working with disability groups across our rail projects to ensure the UK’s railway is accessible for all.
