Delivering Success

Throughout the contract team Story worked closely with the client to ensure that works were fully programmed and delivered in accordance to the programme. Due to ongoing mechanical installation supply restrictions, this required weekly programme meetings and reviews to enable resequencing of building and civils activities to ensure that work progressed in accordance with the master programme.

The team also worked in close collaboration with site representatives and other contractors in order to ensure works were planned efficiently, despite ever-reducing work areas being available towards the final stages of the project.

The successful completion and management of the project resulted in Story also being contracted to complete works on Iggesund’s new Anaerobic Digester Plant, with a similar phased contract approach utilised.

The ground floor of the building was badly impacted by the floods caused by Storm Desmond in December 2015 and had been unused for six years as a result. Extensive refurbishment works were required to repurpose the ground floor which previously housed a large amount of the council’s public-facing operations.
