Construction team wrap up McVities project

Story Contracting’s Construction division achieved practical completion at McVities flood defence project on Friday 12th May, with the past few weeks spent applying the finishing touches and undertaking any additional small works as requested by the client. This was a challenging scheme with potential high stakes if we had encountered another flood before the works were completed.

The contract ran for almost 9 months with the factory being flood resilient after only 4 and a half months. This is testament to all the Story personnel and subcontractors who worked on the project and relationship that was built up with the client and designers. The client has been very complimentary and is delighted with what has been achieved by the Construction project team in such a short space of time.

“I’m delighted to report the site was secured before our very challenging target (that a lot of people thought was impossible), thus ensuring the future protection of the site. This could not have been achieved without the close working relationship we formed with Story Contracting. A great example of collaborative teamworking.” Jonathan Cruse, Site Engineering Manager, Pladis Global
